Through this past freeze, we've been organizing winter kits and delivering supplies directly to camps and to our regular weekend distributions. Thanks to your donations, we have been able to give out tons of warm gear to hundreds of folks around town. The cold isn't over yet -- check in on your unhoused neighbors and donate to our stay warm drive linked in our bio if you can!

The past couple of weekends we have been asking folks at our distributions about their experiences with recent city and state led sweeps. Tik and Veronica share personal experiences through video, and several others gave anonymous quotes for us to use, some of which we have compiled here.

Sweeps are violent and offer no solutions. Please urge city and state leadership to stop the sweeps!

Consider donating a few dollars a month to help sustain our weekly distributions downtown! We increased the amount of camping gear we give out since this past winter, but without more monthly donations we'll have to reduce these numbers again. All donations go directly to purchases, we appreciate any and all support ❤️

❄️ Winter Weather Wrap-Up ❄️
This winter season, with your support, we distributed tents, sleeping bags, hot drinks and warm food, winter gear, and other requested supplies to unhoused neighbors during the freezing temps with multiple cold fronts hitting Central Texas.

We believe in community care and transparency — swipe to see exactly how funds were used. Every dollar donated went straight to supplies. No overhead. No fluff. Just community taking care of community. 🧾❤️

To everyone who donated, lent a hand in distribution, or shared: thank you for showing up yet again!

Over the past month, we've had conversations with several community members who have experienced the violence and trauma of encampment sweeps in town. We compiled feedback into this introductory resource on how to support people during a sweep. If you have any other strategies or ideas, please drop them in the comments.

As we prep for more emergency camp outreach during this week's freeze, we wanted to share some tips on how you can support unhoused folks in your neighborhood. After several chats with our community, we compiled some basic info. This work is not limited to organizations, care and solidarity must be a continual communal process.

Street Forum's 2024 Wrapped is here! This is a breakdown of what we've distributed this year to get an idea of the material impact of your monetary and supply donations. The majority of these supplies are purchased with our Open Collective funds, but some supplies are donated or purchased out of pocket. This is a measure of material impact - not a budget (for financial transparency, please see our Open Collective).
We'd like to shout out the following orgs for their consistent supply donations: for condoms and l**e, for pet food, for coffee beans, .ish.nonprofit for monthly clothing distribution. Thank you all for your commitment to solidarity with unhoused people, and we hope to see you in the new year!

There was a little rain, but a lot of love going around at Street Forum's Holiday Meal at Republic Square Park today.

We’d especially love to give a huge thank you to and everyone who cooked, delivered, and pitched in to provide warm tasty meals for around 200 people today after our regular distribution this morning.

Thanks to y’all, we were able to share a delicious hot meal with our neighbors while chatting, listening to music, and enjoying the work we do here every week.
