Thank you for another informative session on tax notices and protests!
Key points:

-You should have gotten your tax notice already! If not, visit traviscad.org unless you are over 65 or disabled, call the office directly.

-Deadline to protest is May 15 or 30 days after notice is mailed.

-You're not protesting property taxes, you are protesting your MARKET VALUE. (What your property would sell for after Jan 1st)

This week with DVCC Homeowner Resilience Program.

Property Tax Exemption Workshop🎉
Join DVCC & TCAD for a night of saving money! We will be signing people up for homestead exemptions and other qualifying exemptions! 💲
-For a general residence exemption or an over 65, we just need a driver's license.

-For disabled persons or disabled veterans, we need documents (usually a letter) from the VA or social security administration showing the level of disability.

Taller de Exención de Impuestos a la Propiedad 🎉
¡Únete a DVCC y TCAD para una noche de ahorro de dinero! Estaremos inscribiendo a personas para exenciones de vivienda principal y otras exenciones elegibles. 💲

Para una exención de residencia general o para mayores de 65 años, solo necesitamos una licencia de conducir.

Para personas discapacitadas o veteranos discapacitados, necesitamos documentos (generalmente una carta) del VA o la administración de seguridad social que muestren el nivel de discapacidad.
