Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈

At Aurora911, we are committed to creating a workplace where every member of our team feels included, respected, and valued. This job is tough, and our people are better when they can show up as themselves. Together, we’re stronger.

That extends to the work we do to serve this community. Everyone deserves to feel welcome in Aurora. Our mission is to get the right resources to the right place at the right time, for everyone, every time. We see you, and we’re here for you.

This one is special: we had the honor of presenting Susi with a Phoenix Award today. Earlier this year, Susi took a call for a patient who was unconscious and not breathing. CPR was already in progress, and Susi provided additional guidance and reinforcement. She was a steady, calm voice in a chaotic situation.

Phoenix Awards at Aurora911 are given to recognize a call-taker who plays a critical role in a patient recovering completely and neurologically intact after a cardiac arrest. This often means providing CPR instructions to the caller or other bystander.

This is a big deal — on average, individuals who suffer an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest have roughly a 10% chance of surviving and leaving the hospital neurologically intact. The earlier they receive CPR, the higher their chances of surviving.

Way to go, Susi! Thank you for making a difference. ❤

🎊 Help us celebrate Victoria, our Gold Line Award winner for May! 🎊

Victoria starts every shift ready to support those around her. When she comes in, she will look at staffing and have a game plan for the day. She is always helping someone, whether it is a caller, an employee in the pod next to her, or someone asking a question. She is a leader to those around her and embodies our core values of integrity, respect, compassion, and teamwork.

During a recent critical incident, Victoria truly exhibited these values. She remained calm and worked closely with her teammates and on-the-ground responders. She remained steady during a highly stressful and difficult situation, demonstrating professionalism and empathy throughout the call.

This is just one of many examples highlighting her capabilities and how she shines at the moments that matter the most.

Well done, Victoria! We appreciate you and how you show up for everyone, every day.
