Representative Barbara Hernandez East Aurora Born and Raised State Legislator. Office Hours: Open Mon-Thur from 9am-5pm Barbara Hernandez was born and raised in the East Side of Aurora.

Barbara is the first in her family to attend college. She graduated from Waubonsee Community College in 2012, and from Aurora University in 2014 & 2021. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Master's in Public Administration from Aurora University. Since she was 14 years old, she has been actively involved in the community and knew she wanted to get involved in politics to fight a

long with people who could fix the broken immigration system, which her family had a personal connection to. Barbara was elected as the youngest elected official on the Kane County Board in 2016. Currently, she is the youngest Latina State Representative in the Illinois House of Representatives, and she was appointed in 2019.
