Please join us in congratulating our Scholarship recipient, Lylah Mitchell!

Lylah will be attending the University of Nebraska–Lincoln this fall, where she plans to major in Criminology/Criminal Justice and Psychology.

Lylah’s father Travis currently serves as a Captain for Aurora Fire and a Captain for Grand Island Fire!

We wish her the best of luck in this exciting next chapter and look forward to seeing all she accomplishes.

Our department is made up of dedicated volunteers who answer the call at all hours leaving their jobs, families, and daily routines behind to help others in times of need. Whether it’s fighting fires, responding to car accidents, or helping during disasters, their commitment does not go unnoticed.

Volunteering isn’t just about putting on the gear it’s about serving something bigger than yourself. It takes sacrifice, teamwork, and a strong sense of community.

To our volunteers: thank you for your time, your effort, and your unwavering dedication. We couldn’t do it without you.

‼️Public service announcement‼️

While we are getting some much needed rain in our area, we want to remind everyone that the statewide burn ban is still in effect. We understand many of you have brush piles that need burned, however we will not be issuing burn permits until conditions improve and we deem it safe for open burning.

Aurora Fire Department and all of our firefighters greatly appreciate your patience, support and understanding durning this time.

Earlier today, our department responded to a grass and tree line fire that had the potential to spread quickly due to dry conditions and wind. Crews worked to contain and extinguish the fire, protecting nearby property and preventing further spread.

We want to remind everyone that conditions are still very dry, and it doesn’t take much for a fire to get out of control. Please report any fires immediately.

A special thank you goes out to Hampton Fire and Giltner Fire for their quick response and assistance on scene. Strong teamwork like this makes all the difference in keeping our communities safe.
