AmeriCorps NCCC Southwest Region

AmeriCorps NCCC Southwest Region Welcome AmeriCorps NCCC Southwest Region members, alumni, family, and friends! Comments will not be edited.

AmeriCorps NCCC is a full-time service program that covers lodging and travel expenses, allowing young adults to serve on a team and make an impact in communities across the country while gaining valuable leadership skills. Over ten months, AmeriCorps NCCC members work full-time on several projects, from building and rehabilitating homes for families in need to cleaning up parks, streams, trails,

and shorelines to helping communities recover from disasters. FEMA Corps is a newer track of NCCC, where members focus solely on disaster response and recovery activities with FEMA. Throughout their twelve month term, members provide support that ranges from working directly with disaster survivors to supporting disaster recovery centers to sharing valuable disaster mitigation and recovery information with the public. AmeriCorps NCCC and FEMA Corps members are assigned to one of four campuses located across the country: Sacramento, CA; Aurora, CO; Vinton, IA; or Vicksburg, MS.

Team Fire 5 had some special visitors today! Colorado Governor Jared Polis, colleagues from the Governor's office, and staff from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment came out to meet the team and thank them for their service at United Way of Pueblo County.

To date, Fire 5 has returned over $2.7 million to low- and middle-income community members through no-cost tax filing services! Over the Southwest Region's history, our teams have returned over $50 million to residents of the state through tax prep projects. 🙌
