Over the past few years, FMSC- Aurora has been blessed to serve alongside Cole's Camp, another local nonprofit in the Chicagoland area that works to support grieving families. This past week, our staff was truly humbled to work a session full of families celebrating the lives of their loved ones. By working together, they packed over 17,000 meals for children across the world. Each and every one of those meals will distributed to kids and families, each of whom will have been a given a second chance at life. Thank you, Cole's Camp!

At the beginning of July, one of our staff members decided to organize a fundraiser for our site. The reward for those who supported him? They would get to shave his head. Over the course of July, Emmanuel raised $1,758.21 for Feed My Starving Children! 👏

Meet Travis, Dean, and Michelle who are passionate about the FMSC mission and packing meals. They love the experience of community and doing something meaningful to help other people – especially hungry children fed with FMSC meal packs.

Families and friends are always welcome to join a packing session at FMSC, even kids as young as five can join their parents, relatives, and grandparents packing meals.

Say hello to Isabelle, everyone! Isabelle has recently been promoted to a full time staff member at the Aurora site and is one of our most reliable, hard-working staff members!

We recently asked her what her favorite FMSC MarketPlace item was. She walked over to the Haiti section and began to point different pieces of jewelry. She finally landed on the Beautiful Life earrings. These showstopping art pieces are made by our artisan partners from Vi Bella. They are ornate, golden hearts featuring small pearls. Isabelle said that they are always a reminder of how something so small can really brighten up your day.

These are available for pickup at FMSC Aurora. Each set costs $24.00 and provides 36 meals for children around the world. Shop our MarketPlace today!

Everyone say hello to Taliyah! She is one of Aurora site's supervisors and loves some of our seasonal summer Marketplace items that in our store right now! Her favorite item is the Sunflower Decorative Bowl! It sells for $36 and is made in Haiti. Every purchase provides funds for 55 meals. She loves it because it is a "beautiful way to brighten up your home."

TL;DR a brief power outage turned into a special moment among volunteers and staff. 💙

The other day, our building lost power during our standard end-of-session prayer. We moved outside while crews restored power. Dean, our former warehouse specialist and current trained volunteer, grabbed a box and carried the box outside. We gathered around the box and said our prayer outdoors. The moment filled staff and volunteers alike with pride in what a community accomplishes when serving the kingdom of God.

We don't promise this experience to every volunteer. But spend enough time with us, and who knows? We might share another outdoor prayer someday. Visit Feed My Starving Children – Aurora and volunteer with your community. Help feed kids around the world today!
