End the summer with good memories, not a DUI. 🌅

Don’t drink and drive this Labor Day weekend. Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.

🚨 Flee Now, Pay Later 🚨

No one is breaking this law by accident — you’ve got to be trying pretty hard. 🚨

The kinds of reckless driving covered under Aurora’s Ordinance 27-135 aren’t everyday mistakes. They’re stunts, sideshows, and swarm-style caravans that create chaos and threaten safety in our community. 🚫

Penalties include: 📌

$1,000 fine for a first offense. 💥

$2,500+ for repeat offenses. 💥

Vehicle impoundment. 💥

Follow-up citations even after the event. 💥

Just because you weren’t stopped in the moment doesn’t mean you won’t be held accountable later. 🕵️‍♂️

🏆👟 It wasn’t just about bringing home the trophy (again)… we earned it on the course, too!

Commander Ted Grommes, Commander Don Flowers, and Officer Nicole Holland represented the Aurora Police Department at AAIM’s annual Make a Difference 5K — a fun and meaningful event supporting crash victims and families affected by impaired and reckless driving.

🏆 For the fourth straight year — and fifth time in the last six — APD was named AAIM’s Top Municipal Department for DUI enforcement!

After accepting the award, our team laced up and joined hundreds of runners and walkers committed to making our roads safer.

Officer Holland, who has also been recognized by MADD for her outstanding DUI enforcement, kept that momentum going on and off the course! 👟💪

Congratulations to our team and everyone who helped make the event a success!
