What a Fantastic Boosterthon!

Our Boosterthon fundraiser was a HUGE success! Thanks to the incredible generosity of our Homestead community, we exceeded our goal and raised an amazing $25,400! 🎉 Our Fun Run was an awesome day filled with energy, smiles, and school spirit as we came together to celebrate our Huskies. We are so grateful to our amazing parents, families, and community for making this fundraiser such a success!

A special THANK YOU goes to our incredible community sponsors who help make it possible for every Homestead student to receive a FREE school spirit T-shirt! These businesses invest in our school, support our students, and help build a stronger Homestead community. Many are owned or managed by Homestead parents, and all are part of our local community. ❤️💙💚

Please show these amazing businesses some love and support them whenever you can!

What a GREAT way to start the day at Homestead! 🐾🚲
Our Homestead Huskies had an amazing time celebrating National Bike & Roll to School Day! 💙💚 The smiles, excitement, and enthusiasm were contagious as our students rode their bikes to school and kicked off the morning with a focus on physical activity, bike safety, and school spirit!
A HUGE thank you to our amazing parent volunteers for helping make this event such a success! We sure started our day off on the right foot… or should we say, the right wheel! 🚴‍♀️🐾

To kick off National Bike & Roll to school day this week, Katie Benjamin from Northwestern Medicine visited Homestead to present ThinkFirst! Safety Assemblies. Students learned how special and important their brains and spinal cords are, along with simple ways to stay safe while riding bikes, crossing the street, and traveling in a car.

KEEP THE SAFETY CONVERSATION GOING

Use these conversation starters to talk to your student about what they learned today:

What does your brain help you do, and how can you keep it safe?

When should you wear a helmet?

What should you do before you cross the street?

Why should you buckle up and ride in the back seat of the car until you are 13 years old?

Remember you are your child important role model. Help protect your brain by wearing a helmet every time you ride, too!

Second graders in Mrs. Rusin‘s class enjoyed Camp Read a Lot today. They participated in various camping themed activities throughout the day.

Our PTA organized a visit from the Jessie White Tumblers, and it was great to see the whole school come together. The assembly focused on teamwork, doing your best, and how practice makes a difference. Students and staff loved watching the acrobatics and had a chance to ask questions and learn more about the program. Everyone had a good time, and the energy throughout the day was positive and fun. Thank you PTA for a fun day!
