Our fall book fair is coming soon (September 21st-24th)! For students, it’s one of the most anticipated events of the school year—but we need volunteers to make it happen. Free & Reduced Meal Applications are now open. This application needs to be submitted annually. If you had free/reduced meals in the 2025-2026 school year, you will need to reapply to continue using these benefits past October 2026. Apply at www.sd308.org/freereduced

On July 30, Homestead hosted a Literacy & Lemonade summer event. Families enjoyed books, lemonade, and a read aloud about Louis Braille. Then they read and wrote words in Braille, played Braille Twister, and had Braille relay races. Thank you to everyone who attended!

come read with us! Bring your book(s) of choice and a chair or
beach towel to sit on. The first 30 minutes will be for reading and
visiting. Following will be a fun Braille literacy activity! Lemonade will be provided.

Homestead students and staff spent the morning checking out books on the Aurora Public Library Bookmobile and reading on the lawn. Daily independent reading is a priority and goal for all of our students! We hope students can keep up daily reading habits over the summer.
