Honoring Our + Heroes on 9/11 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🇺🇸

Today, we remember the tragic events of September 11, 2001, and honor the brave LGBTQ+ individuals who risked or lost their lives in service to others. Their courage and selflessness remind us that our community has always stood on the frontlines of resilience and hope.

Among them was Mark Bingham, a gay hero on United Flight 93 who helped prevent further devastation through his bravery. His actions, alongside many others, saved countless lives that day.

As we reflect on this day of national remembrance, let us also recognize the LGBTQ+ first responders, military personnel, and civilians who exemplified strength, love, and courage in the face of terror.

Your bravery is our legacy. We will never forget.

This Thursday, we’re honored to have Ernie Salinas, a young voice of faith, lead our community in prayer during Simply Destinee’s Su***de Awareness Candlelight Vigil.

Ernie has a heart for God, his community, and encouraging others. He’ll help us pause together to remember the lives we’ve lost, surround grieving families with love, and lift up those who may be struggling in silence.
