Augusta, A Call to Take Pride

Augusta is more than just a small town on the White River.
It’s our home. Our history. Our legacy.

We are the county seat of Woodruff County, part of the Arkansas Heritage Trails, and home to places like the Cache River National Wildlife Refuge. We host Augusta Days, welcome families back for reunions, The Mallard Masters championship, and offer some of the best outdoor experiences in the state.

There is a lot here to be proud of.

But pride isn’t just what we say — it’s what we show.

As leaders, business owners, property owners, and residents, we all share responsibility in how Augusta is seen and experienced. The condition of our homes, our businesses, and our streets reflects directly on our community.

Clean properties. Maintained buildings. Respect for our shared spaces.
These are not big asks — but they make a big difference.

Growth, opportunity, and investment follow communities that show they care. And Augusta has the people and the potential to be exactly that kind of place.

This isn’t about criticism — it’s about commitment.

Let’s continue building a town we’re proud to call home, not just during Augusta Days or special occasions, but every day.

It starts with each of us!

Passionate words spoken from a lifelong resident and business owner, Shandon Nichols. Let us all come together! The mayor's office door is almost always open. Come have a conversation, and let's share ideas!

We have lots of spring cleanup going on today. Guys out with weedeaters, mowers, blowers, and shovels, cleaning out ditches.

We also have water leaks being repaired. This one is about a 15 to 20 foot stretch the guys are working on. We know there is more to fix, and we will get to them.

Drive cautiously and let the guys know they are appreciated if you see them out.
