🌱 Cannabis is more than a political issue
📊 Data matters
🏛 Civic engagement matters
đź’¬ Public opinion matters
📚 Education matters

The future of cannabis policy will be shaped by people who are willing to participate, ask questions, review the evidence, and engage in the process. Our latest blog covers the Food First Initiative, cannabis as food research, federal policy developments, transparency, accountability, and practical civic engagement

If you missed the DEA cannabis rescheduling hearing filing deadline, FILE ANYWAY.

The official Federal Register notice for participation was only published on April 28, 2026, giving the public barely 3 weeks to respond before the May deadline.

Many advocates, patients, consumers, and grassroots organizations never even saw the notice. There was no public signup portal, no broad outreach, and almost no cannabis media coverage explaining HOW to participate.

Some of us actively searched for information and still couldn’t find clear filing instructions.

This hearing affects millions of cannabis consumers, patients, workers, and small businesses. The federal government should not be able to quietly limit participation through a rushed and confusing process.

You can still try to participate by filing:
• a Notice of Intent to Participate
• and/or a Motion for Leave to File Out of Time

ADDRESSES:

To ensure proper handling, reference:
“Docket No. DEA-1362”
on all correspondence.

Electronic submissions:

Paper submissions:
Drug Enforcement Administration

The hearing starts June 29 in Arlington, VA. Even if DEA denies participation, public pressure for inclusion matters. Consumers deserve representation in this process.

One plant. Many names.

Cannabis sativa is the scientific species name of the plant itself. Terms such as H**p, Ma*****na, Cannabis, CBD flower, Medical Ma*****na, and THCa flower are classifications and labels shaped by legal definitions, cultivation practices, chemical profiles, and intended use.

The terminology has changed across cultures, industries, and laws over time, but the plant remains the same.

Education creates clarity. The more we understand Cannabis sativa, its cannabinoids, terpenes, genetics, and diverse chemical profiles, the easier it becomes to separate scientific facts from assumptions and build more informed conversations rooted in evidence rather than confusion. 🌿

While federal agencies still haven’t prioritized studying h**p as food, this research was completed for just $9,379 through grassroots support, nonprofit collaboration, and community-driven science.

The findings from the highlight h**p’s potential as a nutrient-dense, sustainable food source rich in protein, fiber, healthy fats, minerals, and essential micronutrients.

H**p is more than fiber or cannabinoids, it’s food.

Big thanks to for covering the story: *Link in Bio*

Grateful to have supported this independent Food First Initiative h**p nutrition study alongside others working to advance h**p research and food sovereignty.

What happens if regular people stop waiting for lobbyists, PACs, and national organizations to do all the work?

You get decentralized civic pressure. State by state. Office by office. Question by question.

This Spring Floor Vote push is simple:
Ask every Senator and Midterm candidate two direct yes-or-no questions about federally descheduling cannabis from the Controlled Substances Act of 1970. Then publicly document the answers, or the silence.

No complicated activism. No giant funding machine. Just organized citizens creating public records and applying consistent pressure through calls, contact forms, letters, and social media.

The goal is transparency.
The goal is accountability.
The goal is to force the conversation into the open before election season ramps up.

If cannabis is already legal or regulated across large parts of America, then elected officials should be able to clearly explain where they stand on full federal descheduling.

Democracy is not a spectator sport.

We built this free civics training to show people how to document, track, and pressure elected officials the right way, with records, follow-ups, public accountability, and persistence.

Too many Americans stop after one email. Real civic pressure means:
• asking direct questions
• contacting every office
• documenting every response
• following up publicly
• keeping the pressure visible

This is basic citizen engagement, not partisan theater. If representatives work for the public, then the public should know how to properly communicate with them and hold offices accountable for responses.

Read the guide. Use the steps. Share your work. Stay active.

Informed citizens build stronger systems.
