June is Alzheimer's Awareness Month 💜

Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia, affecting millions of older adults and the families and caregivers who support them.

For those working in Adult Protective Services, understanding the intersection of cognitive decline and vulnerability is critical. Individuals living with Alzheimer's and related dementias can face heightened risks of abuse, neglect, and exploitation. This underscores the importance of awareness and early intervention more than ever.

Throughout June, NAPSA remains committed to equipping professionals with the knowledge and tools to protect and support our most vulnerable adults.

🟣 Wear purple this month to show your support for the Alzheimer's community!

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is June 15.

WEAAD is a global reminder that older adults deserve to live with safety, dignity, and respect. It is also an opportunity to raise awareness about abuse, neglect, and exploitation and to recognize the role we all play in prevention and response.

Throughout June, NAPSA will be sharing resources, educational content, and virtual event information in support of elder justice.
