Members of the Maine National Guard joined community volunteers and the Maine Bureau of Veterans' Services at the Central Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Augusta to place flags on the graves of our fallen service members ahead of Memorial Day weekend.

The large turnout of participants served as a powerful reminder that we are a nation that remembers the sacrifices made by those who served. The Maine National Guard is grateful to everyone who took part in honoring our heroes and preserving their memory.

Post translation: "I extend my congratulations to all citizens of Montenegro on the occasion of Independence Day, the day when Montenegro's independence was restored 20 years ago." - Minister of Defense, Montenegro

Best wishes to Montenegro, our state partner, on their Independence Day! 🇲🇪

State Partnership Program: Maine - Montenegro

Svim građankama i građanima Crne Gore upućujem čestitke povodom Dana nezavisnosti, dana kada je prije 20 godina obnovljena nezavisnost Crne Gore🇲🇪.

Dodatno, učešćem u međunarodnim misijama, operacijama i aktivnostima, kontinuirano ćemo opravdavati status pouzdanog NATO saveznika i faktora regionalne stabilnosti.

Jer, Vojska Crne Gore nije vojska nijedne partije, nijedne politike i nijednog pojedinca.

Zato, u ime Ministarstva odbrane i u svoje ime svim građankama i građanima Crne Gore, zaposlenim u Ministarstvu odbrane i Vojsci Crne Gore, želim srećan Dan nezavisnosti sa posebnom
porukom koju želim da uputim našoj djeci.

Budite ponosni sinovi i kćeri svoje otadžbine, čuvajte svoje korijene, jezik i tradiciju, sve ono što nas je održalo kroz vjekove. Nosite Crnu Goru u srcu gdje god da vas život odvede i neka svaki vaš uspjeh bude na ponos vašoj porodici i vašoj državi.

Kojim god putem sjutra krenuli i koji god poziv odabrali, obavljajte ga časno, dostojanstveno i odgovorno, služeći svom narodu i budućnosti naše zemlje, naše Crne Gore.

Živjela Crna Gora!

Dragan Krapović
Ministar odbrane Crne Gore

Soldiers and Airmen from the Maine National Guard participated in Exercise Cyber Yankee May 11–14, 2026 alongside civilian agencies and industry partners from across the region. This year's exercise was hosted by the Connecticut National Guard.

The multi-day exercise provided participants with realistic cyber incident response training designed to strengthen coordination, communication, and technical capabilities during simulated emergencies impacting critical infrastructure and public services.

“We're bringing people down to this training exercise to develop their skills as cyber Soldiers and Airmen, and also for them to see what real world applications would look like if you were to actually have an event,” said Nicholas Knight, commander of the 146th Cyber Warfare Company and team lead for the Maine National Guard. “So the simulation is to prepare you for any municipality sort of event or state-wide emergency.”

By training together in a realistic operational environment, military and civilian partners improved their ability to respond to cyber threats that could affect communities across Maine and the nation. Exercises like Cyber Yankee help ensure participating organizations remain prepared to protect critical systems and support emergency response efforts when needed.
