That’s a wrap on another incredible Day of Caring spring season!

This year, a record number of participants (over 9,000!) came together across Kennebec Valley to give back through community service projects supporting local nonprofits, schools, municipalities, and community organizations.

Thank you to all who rolled up their sleeves and made a difference — we couldn’t do it without you!

After 10 years of dedicated service to United Way of Kennebec Valley, President & CEO Courtney Yeager will be stepping down this August as she and her family begin an exciting new chapter closer to extended family.

Courtney's leadership has left a lasting mark on UWKV and the Kennebec Valley. Through her vision, heart, and unwavering commitment, she has helped strengthen community partnerships, expand UWKV's impact, and position the organization for continued success.

While this transition is bittersweet, we are incredibly grateful for all Courtney has contributed to our organization and community over the past decade. Thanks to a strong strategic foundation, dedicated staff and board leadership, and deep community partnerships, UWKV remains well-positioned to continue advancing its mission and serving our region.

Please join us in thanking Courtney for her leadership and wishing her family all the best in their next adventure.

This week, United Way of Kennebec Valley was proud to have not one, but two team members featured as presenters at the 2026 United Way Northeast Regional Conference!

Our President & CEO, Courtney Yeager, joined the opening CEO leadership panel, sharing insights with fellow United Way leaders on building trust, leading through uncertainty, and strengthening our network through collaboration and community-centered leadership.

Director of Community Impact Katelyn Pushard took the stage as a member of the first graduating class of United Way Worldwide's Next Gen Leadership Program, reflecting on how the experience has strengthened her ability to anticipate challenges, think strategically, and help shape innovative solutions for our community.

The conference brought together United Way professionals from across the Northeast to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and explore new approaches to creating stronger, more resilient communities. We're grateful for the opportunity to both learn from and contribute to these important conversations—and excited to bring new ideas and energy back to the Kennebec Valley.

We are so excited to welcome Katie and Chris Doherty, along with their kids Scarlett and Grayson, as UWKV’s 2026 Campaign Co-Chairs!

Katie and Chris are dedicated leaders with deep roots in our community. Their connection to and understanding of the Kennebec Valley will be instrumental in this year’s campaign.

“What excites us most is the opportunity to bring people together around something bigger than any one of us,” said Katie.

That vision comes to life in this year’s campaign theme, United is the Way—and we’re inviting you to be part of the movement. Together, we can build a stronger, more connected community.

This year’s campaign will focus on youth opportunity. When we invest in helping children build the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to succeed, we invest in the future of the entire Kennebec Valley. Early support is closely linked to better health, higher earning potential, and long-term stability, creating stronger outcomes for all of us.
