I keep hearing CEOs say, “I can’t get my board members to pick up the phone.”

Meanwhile, mine picked up a whole class of Augusta University graphic design students. 😂

Big shout-out to Board Member Martin Harvey, who is putting on full display by connecting a talented group of AU graphic design students with Bridge Builder Communities.

They spent two hours touring the community, hearing the stories, learning the mission, asking great questions—and probably realizing pretty quickly that this was NOT going to be your average classroom assignment. 😂

Their capstone challenge? Take everything they saw, heard, and experienced and help us tell the Bridge Builder story through the next generation of our Case for Support.

So yes, they came for a graphic design project…but they may have left with a few new perspectives, some real-world experience, and a whole community cheering for them to knock it out of the park.

That’s the kind of classroom we like.

Happy Labor Day from Bridge Builder Communities!

Today, we recognize the hard work, dedication, and service of the people who strengthen our communities every day.

At Bridge Builder Communities, we know firsthand what can happen when people come together and put their hands, hearts, skills, and resources toward a shared purpose. From the builders and contractors who have helped bring our campus to life, to our volunteers, partners, staff, donors, and community supporters—so much of what we have accomplished has been made possible by people willing to show up and do the work.

And that work is creating more than homes. Together, we are building hope, opportunity, stability, and a stronger future for young adults transitioning from foster care.

It’s taking shape!

From above, you can see the Bridge Builder Communities vision becoming reality—the community building, 26 tiny homes, and a place intentionally designed to change lives.

We’re just a few months away from welcoming young adults who have aged out of foster care into a community built to provide more than housing—it’s built to provide hope, stability, opportunity, and family.

The construction may be coming to an end soon, but the transformation is just beginning. ❤️

And this is where we need you most. Help us build what happens after the buildings are finished—the programs, support, mentorship, and community that will help these young adults thrive.

The homes are almost ready. Now let’s help prepare the lives that will be lived inside them.

Partnership in Action with Augusta University!

We’re excited about our growing partnership with Augusta University and the opportunity to give students real-world experience while strengthening the work of Bridge Builder Communities.

Our Board Member Martin Harvey, owner of Recurring Marketing, is working closely with Augusta University students to redesign our Case for Support from start to finish — selecting the paper, developing the design, exploring book styles, and presenting their recommendations for the direction we should take.

Students are experiencing both sides of the process: the creativity of great design and the business strategy behind bringing an idea to life.

Meet Our Community Connector: Delaney Chesnick!

Bridge Builder Communities is excited to welcome Delaney Chesnick to our team as our new Development Manager!

Delaney is a community-minded professional who brings experience in development, strategic marketing, nonprofit fundraising, campaign ex*****on, and relationship building. A graduate of Georgia Southern University with a degree in Public Relations, she combines creative storytelling with a genuine passion for connecting people with causes that matter.

In her role as Development Manager—and our “Community Connector”—Delaney will help strengthen the relationships that fuel our mission, deepen community engagement, and create meaningful connections with the donors, partners, and supporters who make the work of Bridge Builder Communities possible.

Delaney is also actively connected throughout the Augusta community, including through local arts and young professional networks.
