As I sit here by the fire on one of our last nights in this amazing house, I feel an overwhelming sense of gratifacation. We saved this house. 125 years from now she will still be here. We brought life and joy back into the walls. This past 2 years has been awesome as each project/restoration attempt has been completed. Now with the new roof on the carriage house, a fitting set of grand entrance doors and tuckpointing complete we can pass her onto the new family. Hopefully they love her for generations.

Well I'm not sure what happened to the last post but here is a quick update. Patio and deck almost complete. Still have to add the trim around the nearly 9 ft french doors we put in and paint. Deck comes complete with smoker cubby and storage area underneath. Bryan has been hard at it repairing brick. Sometimes you have to take a section out to get the repairs done correctly.

Garden is looking fabulous! My Basil plant is almost as big as Lannister 😁 I have already harvested all herbs once, jalapeños, sweet and spicy peppers, yellow sweet cherry tomatoes, lettuce, raddish, salad peppers and peas. Cauliflower looks close as do Cucumbers.

6 types of apples, cherries pears and peach trees all blooming. Except my winsap apple. Might have to wait 1 more year....

In between sports at work, a trip to Minnesota for a French patio door, several trips to nebraska for stones/pavers, transplanting aronia berries and building cattle sheds we did sneak in time to put in a couple of retaining walls, build up the patio and and get everything ready to set pavers! Also have a few extra special garden items started. It's beginning to look like Spring progress.

Sometimes our projects have absolutely nothing to do with our house. We have had the hoosier cabinet for over 3 years...

Sometimes our projects have absolutely nothing to do with our house. We have had the hoosier cabinet for over 3 years. It was purchased with the idea of revamping it and using it for display at the bakery. We never had time to do it....until now. It is very unique in construction with its metal lined pie drawer, cutting board, the flour/sugar bins and its large and small root vegetable bins. It has been stripped, sanded, cleaned and primed. I am putting on a tile top and will be painting it a color called Juniper Ash (last photo is color reference)with the inside shelving & cupboards being a soft white. The original hardware will be restored and put back I am also going to add small casters so it can be moved easily. I love everything about it. That being said it does not go with our house at all and will be sold. Keep an eye out for the after photos! ❤❤❤❤

Current project.... because who doesn't love bright white subway tile to the basement? Bryan is nearly done with the grout then I can paint! He even added photocell stair lights that come on at night.
