Hoopes Park Concerts are back for the summer of 2026 with the kick-off scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 2026 from 6-8:30 pm with music by the band The Turn Tables. Food trucks include Between Your Buns, Tony's Lemonade and Poppy's Ice Cream!

The complete Hoopes Park Tuesday evening concert schedule for 2026 will be posted very soon to the city website. In the meantime get your chairs and blankets ready and make plans for Tuesday evenings this summer at Hoopes Park! For Hoopes Park Summer Concerts mobile vendors will be on site with all your food and beverage needs available for purchase. Food trucks vary weekly so check City Parks and Recreation on Facebook to see who we've got serving up the goods that night!

Organized by the City of Auburn Department of Parks & Recreation, we would like to thank and recognize our 2026 summer music and movie sponsors for assisting us to be able to have a summer schedule full of free and fun events at our City parks. Lake Avenue Bridge Rehabilitation Project to Begin June 29, 2026
Public Notice: Notice is hereby given that the bridge carrying Lake Avenue over the Owasco River between Osborne Street and Owasco Street in the city of Auburn in Cayuga County will close to traffic for a 12.5 month period, starting Monday, June 29, 2026, until approximately July 16, 2027, to facilitate the bridge rehabilitation project.
Motorists should follow the signed detour utilizing Swift, South, Genesee, Owasco and S. Fulton Streets. Pedestrians should follow the signed detour utilizing Osborne and Miller Streets. Those traveling the area should anticipate travel delays and build extra travel time into their schedule. Construction activities are weather dependent and subject to change based on conditions.
The Lake Avenue Bridge will be closed for rehabilitation beginning June 29, 2026 and will remain closed through July 16, 2027.
Contractor: Crane Hogan Structural Systems, Inc., Spencerport, New York.
Construction Inspection Services: C & S Companies, Syracuse, NY.
NYSEG is responsible for the gas main replacement.

Public Notice: Special Trash & Recycling Pickup Schedule due to Juneteenth Holiday

The week of Monday, June 15, 2026 is Juneteenth week and trash and recycling will be picked up one day early in the City of Auburn.

The Juneteenth Week Schedule is as follows:

If your pick-up day is usually Tuesday, you will be picked up on Monday, June15
If your pick-up day is usually Wednesday, you will be picked up on Tuesday, June 16
If your pick-up day is Thursday, you will be picked up on Wednesday, June 17
If your pick-up day is Friday, you will be picked up on Thursday, June 18
There will be no Trash or Recycling pick-up on Friday, June 19th
Also, there will be no leaf / yard waste pick up on Monday, June 15 due to the Juneteenth week holiday.

Public Notice:
City of Auburn Launches Smart Growth Comprehensive Plan and Announces Public Workshop

Auburn, NY - A public workshop for the City of Auburn Smart Growth Comprehensive Plan will be held on Monday, June 29, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Auburn Public Theater, 8 Exchange Street.

This first public workshop will kick off community engagement for the Plan, providing an opportunity for residents, business owners, and community stakeholders to share their voices and visions for the future of the city. The public workshop is designed for interactive community participation. The meeting will begin at 6:00 pm with a short presentation outlining the purpose and goals of the planning process, followed by an open house where attendees can provide feedback on plan elements at interactive posterboard stations. Families are encouraged to attend, and there will be a children's station. Light refreshments will also be provided. Registration for the public workshop is encouraged but not required. Funded by the New York State Department of State Smart Growth Community Planning Grant Program, the City’s Smart Growth Comprehensive Plan will guide land use, development, and community investments in the City of Auburn over the next decade. The Plan will establish an aspirational, yet realistic vision for Auburn’s future and define policy focus areas, goals, and action items for achieving the City’s vision.
