Julann Brown - Public School Advocate

Julann Brown - Public School Advocate I remain committed to advocating for Equity in Public Education. There is still urgent work to be done. Thank you for your support

Integrity, academic excellence, collaboration, and fiscal sustainability are at the core of my educational leadership for the past 8 years on the AUSD Board. Key distinctions include:
$38.7 million in past debt paid off, reducing the potential for negative impact on the general fund;
A Strategic Plan implemented with student achievement, social emotional wellness, and fiscal responsibility as top

priorities; and
A Facilities Master Plan designed to create a modern and effective learning environment for our students. Additionally, I’m an outspoken advocate for local control of education funding and policy, while representing Auburn and surrounding districts at the state level. We must ensure our students receive a 21st century education that prepares them for a successful future, including communication, collaboration, and creative skills. We must support our staff by ensuring they have the resources and skillsets needed to effectively reach students. Sound local governance that focuses on providing a safe and vibrant learning environment for all children remains my commitment. I look forward to using my experience, knowledge and understanding of the complexities of State education funding and policy to serve the families and children of Auburn.
