What's going on around the City?
Exciting things are happening this weekend! The Sustainability Advisory Committee, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Auburn, will be taking another big step toward completing the lawn improvement project at City Hall and the Auburn Police Department.

A tremendous amount of work has already gone into getting us to this point. Public Works crews have been hard at work grading the site and installing irrigation infrastructure, laying the foundation for what comes next. Now the fun part begins!

So, what does that mean for visitors to the area? To help keep traffic flowing smoothly and avoid backups onto Highway 49, the outbound lane between City Hall and APD will be temporarily used for mulch storage during the project. The inbound lane will remain open; however, we ask everyone to use extra caution when entering and exiting the area, as the primary access point between the two buildings will be impacted while work is underway.

This project represents another step toward enhancing our civic campus, and it would not be possible without the dedication, volunteer spirit, and community commitment of the Sustainability Advisory Committee and the Rotary Club of Auburn. We are incredibly grateful for their partnership and continued investment in making Auburn an even better place to live, work, and visit.

What's Going On Around the City?

Fire safety continues to be one of the City's highest priorities, and with the arrival of the warmer months, our crews have been hard at work reducing vegetation and fuel loads throughout the community. One area receiving special attention is the City's Wastewater Treatment Plant, where staff have been proactively clearing excess vegetation and maintaining defensible space to help protect this critical piece of infrastructure.

The Wastewater Treatment Plant is one of the City's most valuable assets, quietly working around the clock to serve our residents every day. While it may not always be the most visible operation, it plays an essential role in protecting public health, supporting environmental stewardship, and ensuring the reliable treatment of millions of gallons of wastewater each year.

Whatโ€™s Going On Around Town?

Work on the Wastewater Treatment Plant clarifier continues and is a great example of the Cityโ€™s commitment to investing in critical infrastructure. This clarifier is an essential part of our wastewater treatment process and will help support reliable operations well into the future.

Weโ€™re now just days away from bringing it online, which will further strengthen the treatment process and improve the long-term resilience of the facility. This project has been a tremendous team effort, and a lot of credit goes to the Public Works and Engineering staff, along with the Cityโ€™s contractor, for keeping the project moving and getting it completed on schedule.
