🚒 Now Accepting Applications for Volunteer Firefighters 🚒

Our department is currently looking for dedicated volunteer firefighters to join our team. This role requires commitment, responsibility, and a willingness to serve the community.

Applicants must:
• Be physically fit and capable of handling the demands of the job
• Be willing to learn and open to constructive criticism
• Value teamwork and work well with fellow crew members
• Maintain clear communication with the crew at all times
• Be overall willing and able to respond, train, and serve when needed

🔥 Commercial Structure Fire 🔥

Last night, 4/2/2026, at approximately 18:36 hours, Auburn Fire with mutual aid from Russellville Rural Fire Department was dispatched to the 700 block of West Main Street for the reported structure fire. Caller reported fire on the roof of a vacant commercial building. First arriving units encountered heavy smoke and fire from the roof line. 2 hand lines were placed in service from Engine 30 and the fire was darkened down from the exterior. Engine 34 secured a water supply from the nearest hydrant and along with Engine 33 laid 950 feet of supply line to the scene. Crews went interior to search, check for extension,and pull ceilings. Interior crews encountered multiple holes in the floor and found the building to have a basement. Ladders were placed to the Bravo and Charlie sides and it was determined the building had a flat roof with a rain roof covering and the fire had ran the void space. No extension was found and all searches proved to be negative. The fire was marked under control and all units cleared the scene shortly after. The cause is still under investigation.
