The Auburn Food Bank The Auburn Food Bank is a volunteer directed organization that provides food, referrals, and emergency assistance to those in need.

In 1930 a family was burned out of their home and neighbors gathered what would be needed to help them restart. At the end of this "project" there was enough left over to help more families thus the – Auburn Community Chest – was formed. The Auburn Community Chest was housed in private homes, fully operated by volunteer staff. In 1950, we became a member of United Way – which increased our ability for financial support and it helped to organize our program and have continued to grown ever since! Our work today is the same that the citizens of Auburn set out to do in 1930 – some 80 years ago…we are an agency that provides over 2.1 million in services (food and monetary assistance for energy bills) to those in need. In 2017 and 2018 - we opened the Ray of Hope Resource Center and the Sundown Center for our homeless support. Through United Way – we have found ways to measure our success through surveys and questionnaires and goal setting. We work in conjunction with:

Smash Hunger Classic Pickleball Tournament is coming to Auburn!

Join us September 18–20 at Rally Pickleball Club in Auburn for a 3-day pickleball tournament benefiting the Auburn Food Bank and Kent Food Bank.

Whether you’re new to the game or an experienced player, all skill levels are welcome! Enjoy competitive pickleball play, food, drinks, and other activities throughout the weekend—all while supporting a great cause.

Together, the Auburn and Kent Food Banks serve more than 25,000 individuals across South King County each year. Your participation helps us raise funds to meet the growing needs of our communities.

The Kent & Auburn Food Banks are teaming up for our first-ever joint pickleball fundraiser tournament, and we’re inviting local and regional businesses to join the action as sponsors and vendors!

From September 18–20, 2026, we’ll rally together to support more than 7,000 households and 25,000 individuals across South King County who rely on our food banks each year.

Hosted in partnership with Rally Pickleball Club in Auburn, WA, this three-day community event is expected to bring together 300–500 players and guests for an unforgettable weekend packed with:
