We have some exciting news to share!

The Auburn Water District is partnering with HydroCorp, Inc. to install new smart water meters throughout Auburn!

Beginning as early as this week, residents will start receiving letters explaining the meter replacement process. Installations will take place in phases, so some customers may first receive an introductory letter with additional information before receiving their actual scheduling notice.

Once you receive your scheduling letter, please contact HydroCorp directly to set up your appointment. Please note that all appointment scheduling must be handled through HydroCorp, as the District will not be scheduling appointments.

To learn more about the project and the many benefits of smart water meters, please visit our website at:

Thank you!

We are happy to report that our seasonal water service surrounding Taylor Pond has passed its chlorination and water testing and is now in service for the season!

Please note, our customers in this area MUST call our office at (207) 784-6469 option 1 to restore water service, if applicable. We have appointments available as soon as today in order to accommodate and complete this for you.

Thank you!

**HYDRANT FLUSHING UPDATE**

The District plans to start hydrant flushing April 27, 2026. One change for this year is the majority of the flushing will be done during the day. If you see us in your area avoid using water until we're done, in most cases it won't be a long wait. If you happen to pull cloudy or orange water into your home, wait until we're done and then flush your cold water for 5-8 minutes. Below is a list of the areas we plan to do first:

Mon: 4/27/26 Route # 1. Starting on Court St. (top of Goff Hill) and working down Court towards Minot Ave.
Tues: 4/28/26 Route # 2 . Starting near Court St. Minot Ave. intersection working down Minot Ave. to Washington St. South. Down to ruffly 213 Washington St.
Wed: 4/29/26 Route # 3. Starting on Mill St. proceeding to Cook St. and then over to South Main St.
Thurs: 4/30/26 Route # 4. Starting on Mill St. to South Main to Fifth to Eighth to Loring to Seventh to Third and then finally to Fourth.
Fri: 5/1/26 Route # 5. Staring on Russell St. over to Goodrich Ave. to Western Ave. to Dana Ave. to Jefferson and then to Madison St.

** NOTICE! **

Semi-annual seasonal hydrant flushing will begin Monday, April 27th, 2026. Historically, we have done the majority of our flushing at night to disrupt the impact to our customers but beginning this year in order to be more efficient and limit the long-term impact we will be performing mostly day flushing. Please stay tuned to our Facebook for neighborhood updates as our crews make their way around the city.

We expect this process to take approximately 6-8 weeks to complete. Please note, that you may experience some slight water discoloration or odor when we perform this regularly scheduled maintenance. If this occurs at your home, please flush your line by running your bathtub until the problem clears.

But why do we flush the hydrants?

1) To maintain proper distribution system operation.

2) This helps get rid of any potential sediment, solid matter, and biofilm in our system, and brings fresh water to the area.

3) It helps us monitor water quality and address any issues within our system.

4) This ensures that our hydrants are in proper working order and that they meet flow rates necessary for emergency purposes.

Should you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact our office by dialing (207) 784-6469. Thank you!
