You've been playing on tutorial mode long enough. Time to spec your build for the real world. ๐ŸŽฎ

You'll campaign for office, form political parties, write and pass real laws, and build a working city, county, and state from the ground up. One morning you might be mayor. By the afternoon, you could be debating your party's platform.

๐ŸŒฒ When: June 21โ€“27, 2026
๐Ÿ“ Where: Warm Beach Conference Center, Stanwood, WA
๐ŸŽ“ Who: Any current high school junior (class of 2027) in Washington

Here's what actually happens at Evergreen Boys & Girls State - and why it's unlike anything else available to high school juniors in Washington: Day 1: Students are divided into cities and counties. Organizing begins & campaigns launch. Days 2โ€“4: Political Parties are formed. Platforms are drafted. Students run for city, county, and state offices. A governor is elected. Days 5โ€“6: Statewide government is seated. Mock trials begin. Legislative sessions begin. Bills are introduced, debated, and voted on. Day 7: Family Day & Award Ceremonies conclude the week. And much, much more!

Every student plays an active role. There are no spectators. The program is designed to be challenging, competitive, and deeply collaborative - because that's how real civic life works. Students leave with more than a certificate. They leave with real-world skills: how to persuade, how to lead, how to lose graciously, and how to build coalitions across differences. This is civics education as it was meant to be experienced.

Applications open now. Deadline: June 15. โ†’ ebgs-wa.org
