Our thoughts and prayers are with the La Porte County Sheriff's Office and family and friends of the deputy who was shot early this morning at Franciscan Health Hospital in Michigan City. The deputy is in critical condition.

Please be advised that the intersection of Auburn Drive and Wayne Street will be closed and experiencing delays beginning at 7:00 AM tomorrow due to paving operations during the morning commute.

The Auburn Police Department also extends its sincere appreciation to Formwright LLC, located at 1195 S 250 W in LaGrange, Indiana, for their generous donation of a Roof Wrangler Ladder System to the Special Response Teams of the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office, Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, and Auburn City Police Department.
