🐾 Rest Easy, K9 Cooper 🐾

The Auburn Police Department is saddened to announce the passing of retired K9 Cooper.

Cooper proudly served the Auburn Police Department and the Auburn community from July 2018 through December 2023, alongside his handler, Captain Miller.

During his time with the department, Cooper was more than a K9 officer. He was a trusted partner, a loyal companion, and a valued member of the Auburn Police Department family. The bond between Cooper and Captain Miller was built through countless hours of training, service, and dedication to our community.

Although Cooper retired from service in December 2023, the impact he made during his years of service will not be forgotten.

Our deepest condolences go out to Captain Miller, his family, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working with Cooper.

Thank you for your service, Cooper. 💙🐾

Rest easy, good boy. You will be missed and never forgotten.

FAIR PARKING PERMIT NOTICE

Dear Residents,

With the upcoming Fair, parking permits will be required for residents living in the designated areas.

Residents should begin receiving letters regarding the Fair parking permits at the beginning of next week.

Residents on 11th, 12th, 13th, and 14th Streets between Main Street and Union Street will need to obtain their parking permits through the Fair Board.

Residents on the following streets will need to obtain their permits through the Police Department:

15th Street between Union and Indiana
Cedar Street between 11th and 15th
Center Street between 7th and 15th
4th Street between Jackson and Union
5th Street between Cedar and Union
6th Street between Cedar and Union
1st Street between Van Buren and Union

Permit Requirements:
Proof of residency is required, and vehicle registration must match the resident’s address. A maximum of two permits per resident will be issued.

Permits will be available Monday, September 21st through Friday, September 25th, from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM and 1:00 PM–4:00 PM.

Please bring your proof of residency and current vehicle registration when applying for your permit.

The Auburn Police Department is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Bennett Keeran.

Our hearts go out to the family, friends, classmates, teachers, and all those in our community who are grieving this heartbreaking loss.

During this difficult time, we ask that everyone keep the family and those closest to him in their thoughts and prayers, and that their privacy be respected as they mourn.

Our community is hurting, and we stand together in support of one another.
