We want to thank our friends at Science Central for joining us yesterday for an amazing Thursdays Together! We learned all about dinosaurs, fossils, and prehistoric life. We even got to see some fossils ourselves! 🦕

Next Thursday, June 25th, we will be digging ourselves to try and find artifacts. We will be learning all about what archeologists do and how the past can help us learn! ⛏

Last night Dr. James Farlow, emeritus professor of geology and adjunct professor of biology at PFW, presented his work on studying prehistoric footprints. We learned so much and really enjoyed Dr. Farlow's presentation!

The Friends of Eckhart Public Library will be at the Downtown Cruise-In tonight, Thursday, June 18th from 6-8pm. Get your strawberry shortcake and strawberry sundaes while you can! 🇺🇸Darcy is getting ready for the 1776 Book Discussion that's coming up in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of The Declaration of Independence.

There will be two opportunities to discuss Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award-winning historian David McCollough's 1776. :

📆Saturday, June 27 from 2:00 - 3:00 pm | Assembly Room at Main Library
📆Tuesday, June 30 from 6:00 - 7:00 pm | Genealogy Research Room at Genealogy Center

🗽Those attending will be eligible to win books about the history of America and an Americana Fun Box!

❓How are we similar or different to the men and women of 1776? How have we defined what it means to be American in the years since? What have we done with the legacy the founders left to us? These are just a few of the questions we can address during our discussion sessions.

📚Books will be available to borrow at the main desk at Eckhart Public Library or through Evergreen, Libby, or Hoopla.

Did you miss Strawberries Around the Fountain last week? Don't fear!

The Friends of Eckhart Public Library will be at the Cruise-In in Downtown Auburn on Thursday, June 18th with strawberry sundaes and strawberry shortcakes.

These delicious treats will be $10 each and all proceeds help fund Eckhart Public Library programs and events!
