🚂 The Depot has been painted!

A big thank you to Skip and Jason, along with our summer workers Dawson and Gavin, for tackling this long-needed project!

There are still a few finishing touches to complete, but doesn’t it look great already? The Depot is back to its original white color from 100 years ago, bringing a little piece of Atwater’s history back to life. Look for the “Atwater” sign to be hung on the north side in the future, too!

💧 TEMPORARY WATER SHUT-OFF - August 28th, 2026

City crews are temporarily shutting off water service in the southwest corner of Atwater.

💦 Splash Pad Update

The Splash Pad will be closed today beginning at 9:30 a.m. for its monthly cleaning.

It will reopen promptly once the cleaning is complete and everything is ready to go!

💦 Splash Pad Update – We’re Back Open!

Good news! The Splash Pad is back open today (August 3rd).

While we are still experiencing communication issues between the well and the water tower, City staff will continue to closely monitor water tower levels and system controls throughout the day to ensure safe operation.

We are hopeful the issue will be fully resolved by this afternoon.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to restore normal operations while continuing to prioritize a safe and reliable water system.

💧 Splash Pad Closure

The City is currently experiencing communication issues between the well and the water tower. Until the issue is resolved, City staff will be manually monitoring the water tower levels and controls.

To help maintain safe water levels and pressure, the Splash Pad will be closed beginning Sunday, August 2, until further notice.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Maintaining safe water levels and pressure throughout the community is our highest priority.

📢 Thinking About Running for Local Office?

The City of Atwater will hold its City Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

The following positions will be on the ballot:
• Mayor (2-year term)
• Two City Council Members (4-year terms)

Candidate filing opened July 14 and closes July 28, 2026. Affidavits of Candidacy may be filed at Atwater City Hall during regular business hours. The filing fee is $2.00.

Serving in local government is a great way to make a difference in our community and help shape Atwater’s future.
