An Attleboro teacher recommended The Wonder by Emma Donoghue in a list of great Irish lit titles. This beautifully written book explores questions of faith, belief and power.

RIP Dolly!

ALA is heartbroken at the passing of country music legend, cultural icon, and champion of literacy Dolly Parton.

Dolly’s award-winning Imagination Library initiative, inspired by her father’s inability to read or write, has put hundreds of millions of free books into the hands of children across America and was considered by her to be one of her greatest achievements.

It’s another Saturday! Today, we are celebrating Carrie, our Head of Reference Services. Carrie has been working at APL for more than 10 years, and she’s been the Head of Reference for most of that time. She manages the Reference team, as well as providing Reference services to patrons. She also purchases all the Adult Non-Fiction titles for APL, runs the SciFi/Fantasy Book Club, and does a lot of work in our Local History Room, especially when it comes to spearheading our Sun Chronicle digitization project. When asked for a fun fact about herself, Carrie said “I've been a horse girl since I was a little kid and have rescued three horses over the past few years (thankfully not all at once!)” - make sure you say hello the next time you see her on the 2nd or 3rd floor!

It's time for a selection!
An avid library patron told us that The Fire Agent by David Baerwald is an awesome book, SO good in fact, he bought a copy to give to his brother. He says it will give the reader a whole new perspective on history during the first half of the 20th century.
