Structure Fire at Auto Repair Shop Under Investigation

Attalla, AL — On 05/01/2026, just before 10:00 p.m., Attalla Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 300 block of 3rd Street SW at Auto Doctor Vehicle Repair shop.

The first units arrived on scene to find approximately 50 percent of the building involved in fire. Firefighters immediately initiated suppression operations and were able to bring the fire under control quickly, preventing further damage to the structure.

Once the fire was fully extinguished, an investigation was initiated to determine the origin and cause. As is standard procedure for fires of this nature, the Etowah County Arson Task Force was notified and is currently handling the investigation. The fire remains under investigation at this time.

There were no reported injuries.

Attalla Fire Department would like to thank Gadsden Fire Department, Etowah County ESU, Attalla Police Department, A-MED Ambulance Service, and the Etowah County Arson Task Force for their assistance.

We commend the professionalism and swift actions of the responding firefighters, whose efforts were critical in quickly bringing the fire under control and minimizing damage.

Requesting Prayers

Early this morning, while executing a search warrant, our team announced our presence and was met with gunfire during the approach. A county JSOG member was struck in the arm, and the suspect was also hit during the incident.

Both are receiving medical care. Please keep our injured JSOG member and all involved in your prayers.
