Tanker 24 pumped 6000 gallons at just after 4am Friday morning during a mutual aid house fire south of Atmore in the Walnut Hill VFD district. Team work at its best.

It works perfectly! Thanks to our Firefighter Mechanic.

Full moon usually brings out the fire service calls.. tonight was our turn. House fully involved at 1148pm. No one was home. Roof was collapsed when engine 24 arrived a half block from station 24. I'm grateful to Atmore and Perdido VFD for sending both tankers and personal to assist us. Please contribute to your hardworking volunteer fire departments. Now for some sleep I hope

A fatal single car crash claimed a local man's life. Be careful out there. Please respect Firefighters as we attempt to manage traffic flow during these ugly life changing events. Yelling at us because you have to wait isn't cool and speaks volumes about your character!!!

A big THANK YOU for Excellent service to Perdido Station 85, Lottie Station 91, Walnut Hill FL Station 15, Poarch Fire, Atmore Fire and all my fellow fireman from Nokomis Station 24 for 6 hours of wildfire fighting Wednesday. This was a tree topper Fire that is not normal in South Alabama . The Fire consumed 60 acres. It rekindled Thursday despite a fire line from AL Forestry and consumed 4 hours for time from Nokomis, Poarch and Atmore FD along with AL Forestry with another 10 acres. . AMAZING it rekindled today and claimed 40 acres and another 5 hours from Atmore, Poarch. Nokomis Fire and AL Forestry 🔥... we will no doubt be at it again tomorrow. Please pray for rain..

Resist any and all urges to burn .... a 60 plus acreage wildfire in Nokomis took 4 volunteer fire departments and two paid departments plus Alabama forestry wildfire responded . The wind was whipping it up at 13mph causing a serious "tree top" fire that roared west.. call came in at 4:08 pm and we wrapped up at 10pm. Unfortunately the east boundary rekindled this morning and 3 departments spend time again.. cause of fire unknown
