On behalf of the Atlantic Highlands Harbor Commission, we apologize for the inconvenience that the emergency repair to the ramp has caused. We are happy to report barring any unforeseen problems the barge will be leaving the launch ramp around 12:00pm on Wednesday. We anticipate the ramp will be open in late afternoon Wednesday. If there are any further issues we will notify you.

On behalf of the Atlantic Highlands Harbor Commission, we apologize for the inconvenience that the emergency repair to the ramp has caused. We understand that it needs to be up and running again asap but there are things that occur that are beyond the scope and beyond our control.
In order to keep everyone informed, I had a conversation with the contractor this morning and this is the projected timeline of the project....... Keeping in mind this is barring any further equipment breakdowns, weather and any unforeseen things that would prevent us from staying on track. If it can be done sooner, then it will be. CM Ashland is working every day from now until the job is finished.
June 18th—temporary sheathing will be completed up to the office side of the ramp
June 19th—Concrete will be poured into each end of the sheathing run to seal it to prevent as much water as possible from entering.
June 20---Weather permitting the ramp area will be pumped out
June 21---With the ramp pumped out they will begin cleaning out the pumped out area and begin to break up the remaining blocks that are scattered in the area.
June 22---They will begin driving the permanent sheathing at the bottom of the ramp
June 23—Continue installing the sheathing
June 24---Prepare the ramp area with stone base
June 25---Weather permitting pour the concrete ramp
June 26 & June 27—Allow the concrete to cure and begin removing the temporary sheathing.
June 28—Remove all equipment and open the ramp up.

Due to the ongoing deterioration of our boat launching ramp the DEP has issued an emergency repair permit allowing the harbor to address and repair the ramp to prevent any further damage. The cost to make this permanent repair currently stands at $450,000.00.

Therefore, the ramp will be closed to any launching starting on June 10, 2021. We anticipate that the work will take approximately 10 days to complete barring any issues.

As alternatives to launching in Atlantic Highlands, we would suggest that you research the Leonardo State Marina along with the Keyport Municipal ramp, Blackberry Park in Oceanport, Rumson Municipal Ramp and Long Branch Municipal Ramp. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this will cause but this is an issue that now needs immediate attention. We thank you for your patience, understanding and cooperation.
