It’s time! After a final bow of the 9’ Kimball piano having chains slapped against its strings for the concert on May 1st as part of her Lord of the Rings symphony, funding has been secured for the piano’s complete restoration by , the same firm that did the restoration on the Midmer-Losh’s 9’ Chickering piano that is now singing beautifully from the main stage of the arena.
Upon completion, the Kimball piano will return to the Adrian Phillips Theater, where it will be playable from the Kimball organ console or used independently.
As one may gather from the pictures, we are very much looking forward to the after shots!

That Midwestern Mom, social media superstar and a trained opera singer herself, attended the Anna Lapwood concert this past weekend and had many positive things to say about Anna’s performance, while also promoting the ongoing restoration of the pipe organs at Boardwalk Hall. What an absolute delight she is!

I was so incredibly honored to meet the one and only Anna Lapwood. I cannot explain to you what a ray of sunshine this woman is! Not only is she a musical genius, but she has endless joy and energy. Practicing 12 to 18 hours a day registering the organ, and still making time to hear young pipe organ enthusiasts play for her 😍

Even after an extremely full day of practicing, and a full concert, she still made time to do a meet-and-greet with easily 150 people. She bounced and jumped and giggled with joy at every encounter! I really need to know where she gets all that energy from!

SO MANY THANKS the the organ technicians and many volunteers of Boardwalk Hall for the invitation and the absolute honor to see all the hard work you do restoring the world’s largest pipe ! In 2015 it was only functioning at about 25%, and today it’s functioning at 65%! I can only imagine what it will sound like when it’s fully restored ! Boardwalk Hall holds tours and free concerts all summer long, I highly encourage you to take a trip and check it out! I’m going to put their information in the comments, and if you have some spare change to help them complete the restoration project, I’m sure they would greatly appreciate it!

Also thank you to my university Bestie who attended the concert with me. We met at Westminster Choir College in 2001, completely by chance. A three-way roommate switch, where we were the only ones who didn’t know each other, and we became lifelong friends. If you would’ve told our 2001 selves at Westminster Choir College, we would attend a pipe organ concert with over 6000 screaming fans in 2026, I don’t think we would’ve believed you! I really think it’s a glowing example of the power of social media and the good it can do. Anna Lapwood is making the pipe organ hip again! Brava!
