We pray and hope that her memory serves as a light and comfort to those that knew her and that her service to her community serves as an inspiration.

Thank you for your service, Ms. Davis.

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of one of our own.

Donna played a vital role in keeping our officers and residents safe, often being the calm and steady voice on the other end of the radio during emergencies. Her dedication and commitment to public safety will not be forgotten.
We ask that you please keep Donna’s loved ones in your thoughts during this difficult time.

The Atlantic Beach Police Department would to extend it's deepest condolences and sympathies to the family and friends of Officer Joseph Dawson of the Myrtle Beach Police Department. We stand in mourning with our brothers and sisters in the Myrtle Beach Police Department.

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Officer Joseph Dawson. Officer Dawson, who was not on duty at the time, was a valued member of the Myrtle Beach Police Department and of the community we serve.

We were fortunate to welcome him to our team earlier this year, following a distinguished career in law enforcement and military service. His dedication to public service was evident throughout his career, which included six years with the United States Coast Guard and 18 years with the New York State Police.

Officer Dawson moved to Myrtle Beach in 2021, eager to continue serving others in this beautiful community. He brought with him a wealth of experience, unwavering dedication, and a genuine passion for helping those around him.

Though his passing was unexpected, we ask that everyone keep his loved ones in their thoughts during this difficult time.
Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Officer Dawson will be greatly missed, but his impact on our department and community will never be forgotten.
Rest in peace, Officer Dawson.

The Atlantic Beach Police Department would like to warn everyone of a scam that has been going around. We've had a report of people receiving calls from individuals claiming to be police officers and claiming that the victims owe them money due to missing court appearances, jury duty and other "legal obligations". They will ask people to put money on gift cards and give them the information over the phone to avoid jail. They will use publicly available information about you to seem credible.

We will not call you and ask you to load gift cards in order to settle any legal or financial "obligations" or "debts", these are scams. If you receive phone calls like this, please do not give them any personal information or money. If they contact you, we are encouraging you to not engage with these people and hang up. Please be careful.
