Crystal Coast Earth Day Celebration All activities take place at the Coastal Education and Visitor Center, located at Fort Macon State Park. Division of Marine Fisheries and Fort Macon State Park.

To establish an annual event that promotes the importance of the health and sustainability of our planet through environmental and educational elements and the participation of the local Crystal Coast community. In honor of Earth Day, each April Carteret County government agencies, non-profit organizations, and for-profit businesses come together to offer the best variety of fun and learni

ng on the Crystal Coast! Sponsors display products and facilitate programs that focus on creating and sustaining a clean and healthy planet. Each booth provides hands-on, engaging activities for youth and adults, alike! Music, live animals, and fun activities showcase to participants how easy and important it is to care for the land, animals, air and water in beautiful Carteret County and beyond. Come out and see what local agencies are doing to help, and how you can join in, to keep our local environment healthy! Event sponsoring agencies include the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores, the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum and Heritage Center on Harkers Island, N.C. Division of Coastal Management’s Coastal Reserve and National Estuarine Research Reserve, Cape Lookout National Seashore, N.C.
