Today, with heavy hearts, we said goodbye to a very special member of the Atlantic Beach Police Department family.

Six years ago, C4 joined our department through K9s For Warriors and quickly became much more than a station dog. She became a friend, a source of comfort, and a daily reminder that sometimes the best part of the workday has four legs and a wagging tail.

C4 spent her days greeting visitors with a genuine smile, a happy tail wag, and an unwavering belief that every person walking through our doors was there specifically to see her. She attended countless community events, made friends wherever she went, and never missed an opportunity to brighten someone's day.
Whether she was making rounds through the offices, supervising meetings from a comfortable spot on the floor, or patiently waiting for someone to share a snack, C4 had a way of bringing people together. She provided comfort during difficult times, laughter during stressful days, and more than a few reminders that treats should always be shared.

To the AB community, she was a friendly face representing our department. To us, she was family.

Thank you, C4, for six wonderful years of unconditional love, endless tail wags, and the joy you brought to everyone fortunate enough to know you. The station will be a little quieter without you, but you will remain in our hearts forever.

It was a busy Memorial Day in Atlantic Beach. Our volunteers and officers helped out at the Veterans Park Memorial Day ceremony this morning. Our Officers patrolled the beach and streets. And our Atlantic Beach lifeguards worked all weekend. Memorial day weekend is the official start of the lifeguard season. Our guards will be working seven days a week through Labor Day.
