Elizabeth Strickler is a professor of media entrepreneurship and innovation at Georgia State University and an internationally recognized speaker on artificial intelligence, creativity, and emerging media. She has advised Fortune 500 companies, startups, and creative organizations on the impact of AI and has presented at conferences around the world.

Elizabeth is passionate about helping people understand new technologies in practical, accessible ways while emphasizing the enduring importance of human imagination, ethics, and storytelling -- and this week, she will be sharing "The Human Advantage in the Age of AI" with us during our weekly meeting.

Several members of the Kiwanis Club of Atlanta recently attended a quarterly meeting of the Board of Councilors at The Carter Center. Founded in 1982 by Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter in partnership with Emory University, The Carter Center works around the world to advance human rights, strengthen democracy, resolve conflicts and combat neglected tropical diseases.

The quarterly meeting featured updates from program leaders on the Center's global initiatives.

Kiwanis members appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the Center's impact and its ongoing efforts to improve lives around the globe. As Georgia's first and largest Kiwanis club, the Kiwanis Club of Atlanta values opportunities to engage with organizations that are making a difference both locally and internationally.

Children across metro Atlanta are living better, fuller lives because of the generosity and service of the Kiwanis Club of Atlanta community.

This week, Helene Prokesch of Lekotek of Georgia shared how Kiwanis support has helped children with disabilities and their families through technology-based play therapy programs that create joy, confidence and connection.

We invite our members and community to help continue that impact by supporting the 2026 Annual Fund Campaign.

Our goal is to raise $150,000 to support nonprofit organizations that enrich the lives of children throughout metro Atlanta. Every gift matters, and contributions of $1,000 or more can make a transformative difference.

The Kiwanis Club of Atlanta was privileged to welcome Ronald L. Johnson as the speaker for our Memorial Day luncheon.

Dr. Johnson spoke about the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country and reminded all of us of the true meaning of Memorial Day.

A retired U.S. Army Major General with 32 years of military service, Dr. Johnson now serves as Chief of Staff and Senior Vice President for Strategic Initiatives at Georgia Tech.

President Russell Wagner presented Dr. Johnson with the Kiwanis Golden Ruler and then revealed the inside lining of his custom sports coat — all Georgia Tech, of course.

Thank you, Dr. Johnson, for your service, leadership and inspiring words.
