Meet The Piedmont at Buckhead’s most recent "Fountain of You" Award recipients! 👏🏆

Congratulations to our Sous Chef Peter Wilkinson, Lead Receptionist Marlene Dixon, and Zakwajelyn “Shay” Johnson.

Peter is known for stepping beyond the kitchen to support our servers, connect with residents at their tables, and earn great feedback for the food he prepares. Marlene has spent six years making a strong first impression at our front desk, keeping things organized and always ready to help residents, guests and her fellow team members. Shay brings years of food service knowledge to our team and readily steps in where needed, from covering shifts to training new servers and bussers.

Thank you, Peter, Marlene and Shay, for the many ways you show up for our residents and your team each day!!

A private performance with a little music lesson built in! 🎻

The Piedmont at Buckhead welcomed Gloria Allgood of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and her partner for a special double bass performance featuring classical music. Between pieces, our residents had the opportunity to ask questions about the instruments themselves and learn more about classical music’s most famous composers.

Our latest destination at TPB? Spain! 🇪🇸🍷

Chef turned the experience into a masterclass, with Spanish paprika, saffron, cumin, and garlic setting the scene as our residents sipped fresh sangria. The tapas menu featured Andalusian potatoes with chicken, shrimp, anchovies, and more before rice pudding and flan finished the meal on a very sweet note.

The reviews came in quickly, and as one resident said... “This is the best one yet!”

At 96, Jerry Cooper is still looking ahead! His answer when asked about his greatest project? “The next one.” 🏙️

For The Piedmont at Buckhead’s Longevity event, Jerry, a former architect and OLLI professor, shared Atlanta’s story through the lens of architecture, tracing the city from its pre-Civil War beginnings to the metropolis we know today.

70+ members of our community gathered to hear Jerry share his knowledge, and everyone walked away having learned something new. His passion for teaching and history remains as strong as ever, and we have a feeling his “next one” will be worth showing up for, too. Thank you, Jerry!

Over the past few weeks, The Piedmont at Buckhead has been learning "Kinusaiga," a Japanese art form that uses fabric pressed into foam board to create intricate designs without traditional stitching. Hannah has been leading the craft, and our artists’ pieces are taking shape beautifully.

Good eats for good "Zzzzzs" at The Piedmont at Buckhead! 😴🍒

Our latest Fresh Zest pop-up put better sleep on the menu with a selection of snacks curated with the sleep cycle in mind. With help from our dining team, residents sampled pistachios, edamame, bananas, cheese, and tart cherry juice, all featuring nutrients like magnesium or tryptophan.

August mornings are brewing up something new at The Piedmont at Buckhead! ☕️

Each week this month, our ZEST team has hosted a coffee tasting featuring locally roasted coffees found right here in Atlanta. Using the "pour-over" method, TPB residents can sample a smooth cup while learning more about different coffees and how they’re prepared.

For many, it’s their first introduction to pour-over coffee and single-origin beans. We’d say that’s a pretty good reason to pour another cup! ☺️

The Piedmont at Buckhead had the showroom right at our front door. 🚘

For our latest men’s group gathering, Gravity Autos Atlanta helped us host a mini car show featuring newer luxury vehicles, including a Porsche Panamera and BMW XM Label Edition. Instead of heading out to wander a parking lot in the summer heat, our guys could check out the cars up close and talk all things automotive from the comfort of home.

Everything is just peachy at The Piedmont at Buckhead! 🍑

To celebrate Georgia's peach season, our community hosted an in-house Peach Festival featuring all things peaches. The Zest team served peach bellinis, our dining team prepared a spread of peach pies, cobblers, and crostinis, and Smokey's Farmland Band kept the celebration going with live music.

It took a real team effort to bring this event to life, and every department played a part in making the day such a success. Thank you to everyone who helped create such a sweet celebration, we're already looking forward to next year!
