Clear Lake State Park is showing off its spring colors, and it’s a great time to visit! The trails, day‑use area, disc golf course, and Tiny Elk Cabin are all open and ready to enjoy.

A quick reminder: the campground and sanitation station are closed for construction, and the project is on schedule for completion in June. The lake still has some ice, so courtesy piers are not yet installed at the boat launches.

If you're eager to camp, nearby options are open at Jackson Lake, Ess Lake, Avery Lake, and Big Oaks Equestrian State Forest Campgrounds.

Thanks for helping keep everyone safe by staying out of the construction areas, we look forward to welcoming campers back once improvements are complete!

Construction at Clear Lake State Park is moving right along. With the covered approaches and roof going up, you can really see the bath buildings taking shape. The photo says it all—great progress out here!

Work here at Clear Lake State Park is in full swing. Buildings are down and supplies are stacking up. Working in winter has its own set of challenges. In these photos of the lower bathroom building location, you can see the scaffolding they set up. This will be used, when pouring the concrete floors, to cover and heat the work site allowing for a proper curing. They will begin pouring floors in both buildings after the first of the year.
Just a friendly reminder, even though the campground section of the park is closed, the boat launch is still open for ice fishing and the Tiny Elk Cabin is also open through this time. If coming into the campground to ice fish, please park on top of the hill and walk down to the lake. Vehicles parking down by the boat launch cause congestion for traffic driving through and may receive a parking ticket in that area.
If you are looking to rent the Tiny Elk Cabin at this time, please visit https://midnrreservations.com/ to make a reservation. We have lots of openings for the Tiny House so make your reservation soon.
From the staff here at Clear Lake State Park, have a happy holiday and we hope to see you in the new year.

Welcome back campers! Just a few friendly reminders;
check in time is 3pm for a campsite, limit of 2 vehicles per site, pets must be on (at most) a 6 ft leash. The park will look different due to the ice storms and please be patient as we continue to work on opening areas of the park.

If you want to know if a facility has reopened after the storm damage, this application, put out by the State of Michigan, is a quick and easy way to see if your favorite site is open. Changes are made daily so check in often to find a safe location to recreate.
