Georgia is helping shape how states use evidence to improve student outcomes.

GaDOE was one of eight state education agencies that worked with the U.S. Department of Education, the Institute of Education Sciences, and the National Comprehensive Center to develop, test, and refine the new Learning Agenda Playbook.

GaDOE staff were also invited to speak at a U.S. Department of Education convening in Washington, D.C., where they shared best practices with education leaders from other states.

The playbook provides tools to help state education leaders identify priorities, explore critical questions, build useful evidence, and make informed decisions about programs and resources.

The goal is not more dataβ€”it is better evidence to support better decisions and stronger outcomes for students.

Creativity matters.

During National Arts in Education Week, we celebrate the arts educators who inspire creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and self-expression in Georgia classrooms every day.

This year, Georgia expanded opportunities for students pursuing advanced fine arts coursework by adding these classes to the HOPE Scholarship rigor course list. It's one more way we're recognizing the value of arts education and the important role it plays in preparing students for success.

Thank you to Georgia's arts educators for helping students discover their talents and reach their full potential.

Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we pause to remember the lives lost and honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who responded in the face of tragedy.

As we reflect on this day, we also recognize the resilience and unity that emerged in its aftermath and the generations who continue to carry forward the lessons of service, citizenship, and remembrance.

Schools are more than places to learn. They're places where students build friendships, discover their strengths, and find a sense of belonging. Creating welcoming environments helps students feel excited to show up, connect, and succeed.

Opportunity Awaits! Every Day. Every Classroom.
