A huge thank you to the incredible volunteer team from CoreNet Global Atlanta Chapter for rolling up your sleeves to make a lasting difference in Atlanta’s Capital View neighborhood!
Because of your time, sweat equity, and dedication alongside Rebuilding Together Atlanta, Ms. Dorothy—a United States Air Force veteran who has lived in her family’s 1925 home for over 50 years—is able to age in place safely and independently.
Our volunteers jumped right into high-impact work on site:
Interior Safety: Replaced damaged kitchen subfloor and installed new, durable flooring to remove a persistent fall and trip hazard.
Exterior & Accessibility: Repaired front steps, reinforced the back deck, installed a secure handrail at the main entrance, and painted trim to protect the historic structure against the elements.
Property Restoration: Cleared overgrowth, decluttered the yard, and brought the property into safe compliance with local neighborhood standards.
In Ms. Dorothy’s own words:
"I am so grateful for any support that I receive. I appreciate the volunteers sharing their time with me, a complete stranger. The repairs will allow me to age in place in my home and Capital View neighborhood, which has been home for over 50 years."
Ms. Dorothy spent years serving our nation and decades contributing to our Atlanta community. Thank you, CoreNet, for showing up to serve her in return. Real community impact happens when corporate partners and neighbors work hand in hand.
