The Clifton School The Clifton School’s mission is to provide state of the art childcare and education for employees of Emory, CHOA, and the Centers for Disease Control.

The Clifton School is a full-day, year-round program for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. We also offer summer camp for children ages 5 to 10. OUr school has two site locations near Emory University in Atlanta, GA. One is on Clifton Road and the other on Clairmont Road. Both locations are licensed by the State of Georgia. The Clairmont location is nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC); and the Clifton location is Quality Rated by the state. As a not-for-profit corporation, we are managed by a Board of Directors composed of representatives of Emory, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Our daily operations are administered by the Executive Director and the Site Directors.

On Friday, October 23, 2026, The Clifton School celebrated Cape Day in support of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA). Students decorated and wore their capes as they paraded around the school, showing their support for the brave children and dedicated staff at CHOA who face the challenges of illness every day. We are also encouraging our families to make donations to CHOA to help support the children and families receiving care. Together, we can make a difference and show that even the smallest superheroes can make a big impact!

On Monday, October 19th, Clifton School Clairmont teachers had fun designing and creating their own capes in support of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Cape Day on Friday, October 23rd! Cape Day celebrates the strength and bravery of children facing serious illnesses and honors the superheroes who support them. On October 9th, Clifton School Clairmont families celebrated the end of Hispanic Heritage Month with a delicious treat of fresh mangoes and pineapples sprinkled with Tajín! On Monday, October 19th, The Clifton School Clairmont’s private Pre-K Birch class went on their second field trip of the year to the Michael C. Carlos Museum on Emory University’s campus for “Artful Stories!”

Our Birch friends enjoyed reading *How to Help a Friend* by Karl Newson. After the story, they got creative by making scarves out of scrap fabric strips to give to a friend!

Developing social skills is an important part of preschool as children learn to share, show kindness, build friendships, and care for others—all essential skills for kindergarten readiness.

Ms. Maya, our wonderful teacher who previously worked at the Michael C. Carlos Museum, also enjoyed a sweet reunion with her former colleagues and friends, Ms. Alice and Ms. Ana!

Learning About Firefighters!

Our Sheridan Road friends had so much fun exploring a fire truck and learning about firefighters! The children got to see the inside of the fire truck, check out the firefighters’ gear up close, and learn how firefighters help keep us safe.
