Thank you to my friend Leader Stacey Abrams and Fair Fight Action for recognizing my lifelong commitment to defending democracy with the inaugural “Fair Fighter” award.

I am honored to receive this commendation. But now is not the time to simply reflect on our past victories.

The most important fights are the ones ahead.

I will continue working alongside Fair Fight to protect our democracy and defend the right to vote - in Fulton County, in Georgia, and in the United States.

The work continues. And I’m ready.

Read my latest op-ed in the AJC. I am deeply concerned about the lack of diversity on Georgia's new transportation board that replaced the ATL and GRTA. So far there is 0 minority representation and 0 South Metro representation.

Gov. Brian Kemp appointed members to the new Georgia Transportation Efficiency Authority who do not reflect the diversity of places where transit ridership is highest.

The Grady South Emergency Department officially opened its doors to the community.

I’ve been working to make this day a reality since before the Wellstar hospitals closed, and it’s exciting to see this vision come true.

This is the first phase of transforming a healthcare desert into a world-class medical complex that will expand access to quality care for thousands of families.

We’re just getting started.
