🌟 Champion Spotlight: Mason

One nomination is pretty great.

Four? Mason might be making a habit of impressing his teachers. 👏

Across those nominations, the same picture keeps showing up. Mason comes prepared, participates on mic and in chat, stays on top of his assignments, and gives his best effort.

And apparently finishing the work isn’t enough for him.

When Mason is caught up, his next question is how he can improve.

His teachers also describe him as a quiet leader who treats others with patience and respect, helps when needed, and makes the classroom better simply by the example he sets.

Mr. Banks may have summed it up best: a classroom full of students like Mason would be “awesome.”

Keep doing your thing, Mason. 💙

When you finish something, are you Team “done is done” or Team “how can I make it better?”

Proof that your classroom can have a little personality. 💻🩷

Pink desk. Two screens. Big smile. Ready to learn.

That’s the fun of School. Your Way. Your learning space doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. It just has to work for you.

We’re loving seeing how GCA Champions are making school their own across Georgia. Keep the photos coming!

📸 Send your Champion’s learning-space photo to [email protected] for a chance to be featured.

What’s the most “you” thing in your school setup?

🍎 Teacher Spotlight: Ms. Strickland

“She made me bring out my best self.”

That is quite a thing for a student to be able to say about a teacher.

Students describe Ms. Strickland as someone who reminds them they are smart, recognizes what makes each person unique, and still challenges them to go a little further than they thought they could.

Families see it too. One parent remembered how kind and helpful she was at their very first GCA meetup and says that same warmth has carried through every interaction since.

And yes, her students say she makes the actual lessons easier to understand too. 💙

Thank you, Ms. Strickland, for helping students understand the work and believe a little more in themselves along the way.

What teacher helped bring out the best in you?

Two screens. One Champion. Zero commute. 💻😎

This GCA setup looks officially ready for business.

One of the fun parts of virtual school is seeing how every family makes the school day work for them, whether that means a simple laptop setup or going full command center like this.

We want to see yours, too! 📸 Send your Champion’s school-day photos to [email protected] for a chance to be featured on GCA social media.

Important question: are you Team One Screen or Team Two Screens?

🍎 Teacher Spotlight: Ms. Lawson

For an Environmental Science teacher, Ms. Lawson seems to have found a pretty reliable source of renewable energy: herself. 😄

Her students say she comes to class ready to teach, keeps lessons fun and engaging, and has a way of making complicated topics feel much easier to understand.

And they covered plenty. Ecology. Population pyramids. Renewable resources. All made more interesting by a teacher whose enthusiasm for the subject is hard to miss.

One student also remembered something beyond the lessons: Ms. Lawson was willing to help even when she didn’t have to.

That kind of energy sticks with students.

Thank you, Ms. Lawson, for making science easier to understand and much more fun to learn. 💙

What science topic could you happily learn more about?

That smile says school is off to a pretty good start. 💻💙

One of the perks of virtual school? Your learning space can actually feel like your space.

Favorite chair. Comfy setup. Headphones within reach. Ready to learn without ever leaving home.

We’re loving seeing how GCA Champions across Georgia are making school their own, so keep the photos coming!

🌟 Champion Spotlight: Travelle

Camera on. Curiosity on.

Travelle comes to class ready to be part of it.

Mrs. Kirkland says he shows up every day, stays active, works hard, and gives his absolute best. Jennifer Rau sees that same energy in social studies, where Travelle asks thoughtful questions, joins the conversation, and brings genuine curiosity to history.

And while he takes his own learning seriously, he also brings the kind of attitude and respect that sets a strong example for the people around him.

Two nominations. One very deserving Champion. 👏💙

Travelle, keep asking questions, joining the conversation, and giving it your best.

History fans, what time period could you happily learn more about?

🍎 Teacher Spotlight: Ms. Bruce

Every student deserves someone firmly in their corner.

Justice got a whole cheer section.

His parent shared that Ms. Bruce never placed limits on what he could learn, and the growth their family has seen because of that has been lasting. She encouraged him, cared for him, and became the kind of teacher who made the whole family’s day a little brighter.

They even described Ms. Bruce as family.

That kind of connection doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from showing students, over and over again, that you believe in them.

Thank you, Ms. Bruce, for being a cheerleader for your students and for seeing possibility before limits. 💙

Who was the teacher who always seemed to believe you could do more?
