Great sister women have sustained my rise. 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘯𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘵. You’re seeing 8 years of support for our sisters today in purple, tomorrow in crimson & creme, pink & green, blue & yellow, or just simply Beautifully Black & Brown on any day of the week. Eight years of recorded votes on the floor of the State Capitol reflect it, too.

Being with, learning from, and answering to women has made me a Better Man… because I never have to rely on fake machismo, silly rumor or unqualified science to back up any sense of morality while smart sisters are nearby, whispering the active wisdom of learned truths.

My mother and sisters groomed my ear. Hanging out in Spelman’s dorm lounges definitely helped, too. Gatherings like this keep affirming it. Their collective worth is deeply personal and appreciated. 🙏🏽

Angels 𝘥𝘰 live in Henry County….

Henry County will soon be the home of Georgia’s first Safe Haven Baby Box, a new option for parents in crisis to safely and anonymously surrender a newborn.

Located at Henry County Fire Station 6 at 30 Fairview Road in Ellenwood, the climate-controlled box provides a secure place for a newborn while immediately alerting first responders. The initiative gives parents another safe alternative while helping protect some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

The Safe Haven Baby Box will be fully operational Friday, August 28, following a 9:30 a.m. blessing ceremony.
