City of Atlanta Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission In commemoration of the Civil War’s 150th Anniversary, Atlanta historical and heritage sites are collaborating on a number of events open to the public.

The Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission was established by the Atlanta City Council to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Atlanta. The Commission is working to bring together all of the related cultural and historical institutions in the city to develop combined programming, establish a unified theme and branding, create educational opportunities for local students and raise awar
