WOW! Did you miss this?

Check out Sonja's latest blog post and discover why her work is so impactful.

This story features Dwight Mathis, a recent STRIVE graduate, who shared something that deeply touched our hearts: he had never worn a cap and gown until his STRIVE graduation.

Moments like these remind us that our work is about more than programs and services. It's about restoring dignity, creating opportunities, and helping people see what is possible. Stories like Dwight's are why we do what we do.

✂️ ✂️

We're throwing it back to one of our favorite events—our Barbershop Event!

It's always a favorite among our guests, and for good reason. There’s something special about a fresh haircut. It restores confidence, affirms dignity, and reminds people that they are seen, valued, and worthy of care.

At the OAC, we know that taking steps toward stability often begins with meeting basic needs, and sometimes a haircut can be the boost someone needs to feel ready for the next step.

We can't wait for the next one!

A BIG thank you to the kids for making sandwiches during VBS for our guests at the OAC!

It's hard to take steps toward stability when you're hungry. Your generosity is making a difference, one sandwich at a time.

Want to help? Gather your group and provide sandwiches for our guests. Click the link in our bio (or below) to get started!

Thanks to our partnership with Mercy Care , longtime guest Alphonzo has officially been placed into housing! 🏠🎉

He has a key to prove it and his smile says it all!

At Central Outreach and Advocacy Center , we are committed to walking alongside our guests as they take meaningful steps toward stability, dignity, and hope. Today, we celebrate with Alphonzo and give thanks for the partnerships that help make stories like this possible.

Last week was an exciting week in the OAC advocacy world, with two wins that were, in part, a result of our advocacy efforts!

First we got word that the Department of Driver Services Board approved a state rule amendment eliminating the MVR requirement!

Less than two hours later we found out that the broken restroom outside of City Hall will be replaced by the end of summer!

Both of these changes are issues we have been advocating around for over a year alongside many of you, and they serve as a powerful reminder that persistence and collective action can lead to meaningful change.

While we wanted to share and celebrate these wins, our advocacy work is not done yet! If any of you have contacts at the Department of Driver Services that you’d like to connect us with, please email our Advocacy Coordinator Sarah Zimbardi ([email protected]).
