🚨 Cold Case Solved After 35+ Years 🚨

In a breakthrough using investigative genetic genealogy, the FBI has identified human remains found at West Point Lake in Troup County back in 1990.

The victim, Craig Alexander Maddox from Arkansas, had been missing for decades. Despite the body being in an advanced state of decomposition, investigators preserved DNA evidence that ultimately led to his identification.

Thanks to the persistence of investigators in Troup County and cutting-edge genetic genealogy techniques, families now have answers—even after 35 years. The case remains an active homicide investigation as authorities continue to search for more information about how Maddox died. https://ow.ly/Op5X50Z3iBs

Last week, FBI Atlanta’s Violent Crimes Task Force, as a part of Operation Lockdown, arrested homicide suspect Aldemetrius Brown, who was wanted in connection with a 2025 murder investigation in northwest Atlanta.

The arrest operation evolved into a lengthy barricade situation after Brown hid in an attic for several hours before ultimately surrendering safely following the deployment of a police K9.

Thanks to the patience, professionalism, and coordination of all agencies involved, the subject was taken into custody without injury. Operations like these reflect the commitment our teams make every day to safely remove violent offenders from our communities, especially before Atlanta hosts the FIFA World Cup.
