Yesterday, Solicitor General Lisamarie N. Bristol and members of our team visited the Lawrenceville Senior Center to share important information and resources in recognition of Elder Abuse Awareness Month.

During the presentation, attendees learned how to recognize the signs of elder abuse, ways to protect themselves and their loved ones, and where to find help and support. To make the session engaging and interactive, participants enjoyed a game of Bingo featuring questions and facts from the PowerPoint presentation.

Thank you to the Lawrenceville Senior Center for welcoming us and helping us spread awareness about this important issue. Together, we can help protect and support older adults in our community.

The Gwinnett County Solicitor-General’s Office is committed to raising mental health awareness and supporting the well-being of our community. Mental health matters just as much as physical health; and no one should feel alone when facing mental health challenges.

About 1 in 5 people experience a mental health illness each year, but not everyone seeks treatment when they are in crisis. For anyone struggling with their mental health – whether you have a diagnosis or not – You are not alone! Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness!

If you or someone you know needs support, there are resources available right here in Gwinnett County:
Call or text 988 – Su***de & Crisis Lifeline (24/7, free, confidential)
Georgia Crisis & Access Line: 1-800-715-4225
Local services like View Point Health offer mental health and substance use support

Our community partners—including local law enforcement and behavioral health teams—work together to provide care, de-escalation, and access to services when they are needed most.

Let’s work together to break the stigma, support one another, and encourage open conversations about mental health.

You are not alone. Help is available. Healing is possible.
