The event provided an opportunity to honor the legacy of former President Jimmy Carter and First Lady Rosalynn Carter through a day of service and volunteerism.

This week, Deputy Chief Melanie Jones represented the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office during the 2027 Business Plan and Proposed Budget presentation to Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson and the Citizens Budget Review Team.

Chief Jones shared GCSO’s priorities, accomplishments, operational needs, and plans for the year ahead. The presentation provided an opportunity to highlight the resources needed to support our staff, strengthen our operations, and continue serving the residents of Gwinnett County.

Each year, these presentations provide insight into the needs and priorities of county departments, constitutional offices, and the state as the proposed budget for the upcoming year is reviewed.

We appreciate the opportunity to highlight GCSO’s continued work and our vision for the future.

Members of our Family Violence Unit recently attended the Austin Tyler Foundation’s “A Day As A Victim” panel discussion, focused on raising awareness about domestic violence, supporting survivors, and building a stronger, safer community.

Hearing directly from survivors and learning more about their experiences helps strengthen our understanding of domestic violence and the support we provide to victims.

We appreciate the Austin Tyler Foundation for bringing our community together for this important conversation.

Our staff recently came together for a BBQ & Game Day, enjoying an afternoon of games, music, raffles, and fellowship.
