Register today for the 2026 GCDD Candidate Forum on Disability Issues. Join us to hear from these leaders as they answer questions on how their role will work with Georgians with disabilities. The candidates who have been invited to participate are competing for the offices of Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Insurance Commissioner, Attorney General, Labor Commissioner, State Superintendent of Schools, and U.S. Senator for Georgia.

The Spirit of Kim Award, presented by the Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities (GCDD), honors an individual who has shown selfless service to Georgia’s intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD) community.

This award celebrates the generous and dedicated spirit of Kim Person, GCDD’s beloved Office Manager for 19 years, who passed away in July 2023.

Who can be nominated?
Employees, volunteers, self-advocates, or family advocates

Anyone making a meaningful impact—especially behind the scenes—in advancing opportunities for people with developmental disabilities and their families in Georgia.

Self-nominations are welcome!
(Note: GCDD staff and members are not eligible.)
